All the best,
Grant (your driver on The Planxty UK tour 1975 - now living in California)
I'm a 26 year old man from Derry.
Just wanted to say you inspired me to play and sing since I was about 12, although humbled to realise there's no chance I'll be tenth as good as you all these years on!
Keep er lit!
Ps. Any chance of an acoustic version on hard station?? Can't find one online heard you sing it on radio once, and it blew me away.
You'll probably never get to Boise, so we're coming to Ireland in June 2019 and if you are playing anywhere, we will come see you. Thanks for the great music over the years.
It's been a long while since I last/first saw you in the Shaw Theatre in Euston Road ... I think possibly last Friday was even better, as this recent blast is very firmly etched on my memory!
Indelibly yours :~)
Vicki
I was fifteen and taking guitar lessons with my Telecaster and my AC30 when my teacher moved away and my new teacher, a great, but unknown acoustic guitarist called John Petrie converted me to acoustic and I never went back. I asked him what I should be listening to and he gave me yours and Andys post Planxty album and my life was never the same again. This album led me back to Planxty and I became a bit of a tribute act. Perhaps I was tapping into my Irish roots, but that album was an epiphany and I've never looked back.
Keep up the great work you do and thanks a million for the music.
I love the song 'Once in a lifetime on your new album. But I'm struggling to gei one chord. When you sing 'Real love waits its moment.real love wont play games, You Play G D Em and what's the next chord ? Thanks Eamonn
I’m a long time follower of your music and your virtuoso guitar playing. Love the new Unfinished album and paricularly the traditional songs. Am currently visiting South Africa with an iPod to help the journey. As a kenn but very amateur guitarist I am intrigued at the Cocks are Crowing accompaniment. Can you tell me whether you have tuned differently and the wonderful subtle chord change that goes through the song. I am a long term struggler with Arthur McB.
Hope to catch you in the UK in 2018. Many thanks.
Ps my sister in law lives in Stepaside (Lettie McCarthy) where we visit her often. Yet to bump in to you in the Step Inn but that will be a relief for you!

Thank you so much for your music! It is so difficult to put into words just what it means to me. But your songs have gotten me through difficult times as well as joyful ones. Just absolutely beautiful, soulful and classic. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Hoping to get to Ireland to hear you play sometime soon.
Hi Paul. Glad to see you (and Andy) are still going strong. I read you might be working on a book/memoirs. That is a great idea. Would love to read it.
Hi Paul,
Paul, sadly I have came late to your music after reading the opinion piece by Susan McKay in the Guardian about Lyra McKee which referred to The Island. Thank you - wonderful lyrics and music. Best wishes from the Himalayas
Hi ! - I like The Johnstons and Planxty very much ( tried to play Spanish Lady ) - I have two questions : 1) - Did you ever play on The Transatlantic Sessions with Jeremy Douglas ? - 2) Will you come to Cambridge folk festival ? / yours sincerely / Kenne Svedberg
Love ALL your songs, Paul!!! Thanks for sharing your gifts and talents to the world for 40+ years~Anita
Paul,
Looking forward to seeing you in the Spiegeltent in Wexford on 25th October. Hope "The Island" and your many classics raise the roof!
Someone's got to give you and Andy, and Kevin and Dona, for a huge thank you for that fab gig in Cork, last Friday.
Hello, Paul. I just found out you were in Chicago last month and I missed it ! Aaaaarrrgghh! Do you usually tour the U.S. in the fall? I'll try to keep up with the tour dates in the future. All the best -

Hi Paul. Thought I'd use this opportunity to thank yourself and Andy Irvine for a career in Traditional music.
Been a fan of yours since 1981 when an Irish friend gave me the newly released Hard station. Totally envied your skill on the guitar which I used to play then. Got as much or your stuff as i can find. recently become addicted to The World is what You Make it as it chimes with my present life circumstances. Problem is the version I am addicted to is the 1996 session you played on 'Later with Jules Holland' with John Ilkleu, Liam Genocky and Kenny Craddock. far and away the best version for my money, so joyful.. Was it ever issued on a CD compilation or anything
I would like toget in contact and ask you, if you are going to visit germany soon. And especially I am looking for the lyrics of your great Johnstons- Hit "Continental trailways bus" - Thank you very much - I like all your songs.
Looooove the music! Keep it up!
Hi Paul, so good to see you at the gig in Belfast a few moths ago. Absolutely fantastic gig and then met up with some of the guys outside which just finished the night up. Enjoying the new album and enjoying some of the old ones again. Hope to see you out there again very soon.
Hi Paul.
Hallo Mr Brady. I was just watching a video of you and Andy Irvine playing Arthur MacB in 1977, and feel that your guitar style, then as now, is the perfect kind of achievement- just a bit beyond my own skills, but with a rattling soul that keeps it in touch with common realities. Saw you at Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall in 1992 with my girlfriend Sally, and we felt part of something special. Can I post here a lyric of a song I wrote at Oxford Irish folk club in 1985 which might spark some interest in the Irish-English connection? I feel that story has been rather overblown by Enterprize narratives when the song I wrote was more about the Marxist connection. Thanks. Peter
Hi Paul
Hi Paul, all the best for 2018! Any plans to come to Germany eventually in 2018? We follow you since the early "Back to the Center" in `85 and never had the chance to see you live so far.
