When I signed to Rykodisc in 1998 the plan was to re-master my entire back catalogue which I had brought with me, release that in early ’99 in two batches of three albums (April and June)…which we did.. and then, for Christmas that year, put out a retrospective Best Of which would include the highlights from 1980 through 1999 plus some new recordings and a couple of re-mixes.
This is it! Called ‘Nobody Knows’, it’s been far and away the most popular of my records and still sells consistently 5 years later. With many of my best known songs including Crazy Dreams, The Island, The Homes of Donegal, Nobody Knows, The World is What You Make It, Nothing But The Same Old Story and Follow On, it also features new recordings of two traditional classics, Arthur McBride and The Lakes of Pontchartrain, (first recorded in 1976 and 1978). A really good showcase for anyone wanting an overview of what I was doing between 1975 and 2000
