Welcome Here Kind Stranger

'Welcome Here Kind Stranger', originally released on the Mulligan label in 1978, was the first solo Paul Brady record and featured Irish traditional music and songs. Produced by Paul and Donal Lunny, it included Paul on vocals, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki and tin whistle with guest appearances from Donal, Andy Irvine, Tommy Peoples on fiddle and Noel Hill on concertina. Hailed as a masterpiece shortly after its release, it was voted Folk album of the year in Britain's leading music paper, The Melody Maker and has been consistently much sought after ever since.
Due to the original master tape being mislaid by the then record company, this album was never released officially on CD, although an inferior bootleg version mastered from a scratchy vinyl copy found its way on to the market in the mid 80s purporting to be the official version.
Recently a master tape virgin copy has just resurfaced and it's from this pristine tape that this newly re-mastered CD version has been made. Here, for the first time ever, experience this classic album as the musicians themselves would have heard it in studio all those years ago. No surface noise, clicks or cracks or 'print through'. The real thing.
